Regular Help

Learning Volunteer

Do you have a little bit of spare time over the weekends and school holidays? If so, we have a range of family events taking place and are looking for volunteers to help support this part of our learning programme.

We aim to provide a supportive, interesting and enjoyable environment for you and as part of our volunteering programme, you will be able to develop your personal and professional skills, meet new people and learn about working in a cultural building.

What's involved?

As a family learning volunteer, you will carry out a range of tasks including:

  • Supporting arts, craft or heritage workshops for families
  • Helping to set up the spaces
  • Preparing materials in advance of the sessions
  • Welcoming visitors, asking visitors to complete feedback forms and keeping a tally of visitors
  • Assisting families with activities
  • Taking photographs

Why get involved?

Gain experience being part of a team promoting and preserving the University of Liverpool’s Museums & Galleries’ collections for present and future generations. Volunteering is a great way to develop skills in formal and informal learning, meet new people and learn about working in cultural heritage and the arts.
If you are interested developing your skills, while working with children and young people in a museum environment, then this could be the volunteering opportunity for you.  If you can commit a few hours on Saturdays and during school holidays, please contact us to find out more!

How to get involved?

Sign up to become a Volunteer Makers for University of Liverpool Museums & Galleries and accept this challenge. We will then contact you to arrange an informal induction.
