Translations Volunteer

Are you fluent in another language? Assist us at the VG&M by translating historical information that is available for all of our visitors from around the world.

We have documents such as our 'History of the Victoria Building' leaflet that we'd love to have translated into as many languages as possible.

This challenge can be done remotely at home as part of our Digital Volunteering opportunities.

UPDATE MARCH 2024 -
The following languages have now been applied for:
Chinese
Korean
French
Polish
Japanese
Italian
Greek
Romanian
We may still have translation opportunities for the languages listed above but this cannot be guaranteed if you apply for this volunteering role.

What's involved?

Documents will be sent to you in Word format, please translate all information on the page including photo captions.

Once you're finished you can send it back to us via email.

There is also an opportunity to record your translation in an audio format.

Why get involved?

You'll be providing a valuable service to all of the visitors from around the world that visit the VG&M.
Bilingual volunteering offers a remarkable opportunity to showcase your language abilities while gaining invaluable work experience in a museum setting.

How to get involved?

Once you sign up to this challenge we will contact you to find out what language translations you may be able to assist with.

We will then send you the documents and you can get started on your translation.

There will be a section on this challenge where you can upload your final translation or you can email it back to us.
